Kelis deixou para trás os Neptunes e a volumosa afro – cortando-a simbolicamente no início do vídeo de ‘Bossy’.
Há intertextualidade em ‘Bossy’: as referências a singles anteriores nos versos “I’m the first girl to scream on a track” (‘Caught Out There’, de 1999) e “that’s right, I brought all the boys to the yard” (‘Milkshake’, de 2003). E há também uma resposta à letra de ‘Piggy Bank’ de 50 Cent – “then Nas went and tattooed the bitch on his arm” – quando Kelis canta “and that’s right, I’m the one tattooed on his arm”.
Outras coisas: stilettos, champanhe, ostras, um caniche de pêlo azulado e deboche numa sala VIP.
